The Collection

Online Services

The Law Library offers public Internet access to aid in legal research on its computer terminals. Access to the Internet is free of charge, however, there is a charge for printing. When there is heavy computer traffic, a one hour time limit may be enforced, so please keep in mind that others may be waiting.

In addition to general Internet access, the library offers several premium online services free of charge, including:

CEB OnLAW

Ask a staff member to give you digital access on one of our computer terminals and you can review the most up to date versions of CEB’s publications, including Jefferson on Evidence, California Conservatorship Practice, California Guardianship Practice, and more.

Lexis Advance

The Law Library offers access to Lexis Advance, which gives researchers access to primary law, secondary materials like treatises and practice guides, and more.   Lexis Advance users can research tribal law, California primary law, and hundreds of practice guides, treatises, and sample forms.  Most content can be forwarded to the researcher’s email from the research platform for review at a later time.

LexisNexis Digital Library

California Forms of Pleading and Practice, California Legal Forms, and California Probate Practice among others are available in digital form through our LexisNexis Digital Library. You can also access this wherever you have access to the internet – just ask for a member of the law library staff to create a user ID for you.

See below for a video demonstrating how to use this free platform.
