Law Library News and Updates

Kern County Law Library

Beginning the week of November 15, 2021, access to the library will be available by appointment up to three days per week.  Click the Book an Appointment button to see the calendar of available dates.

Per the amendment to Emergency Local Rule #2 effective September 7, 2021, face masks are required for all customers, regardless of vaccination status.

Appointments are for research and document preparation by the library customer only, and law library staff are prohibited by statute from preparing your legal documents for you, or providing legal advice.  You should visit to view listings of local attorneys if you need legal advice or assistance preparing legal documents.

Appointments will be available in one-hour slots, starting at 9AM and ending at 3PM.

Each customer is limited to one appointment per day.  Please Click Here to Read the Proposal for Reopening for the Kern County Law Library approved August 11, 2021, which includes clear statements of rules for library access.

Click on the “Book an Appointment” link at the top of the page to book a one-hour appointment.

You can download a Request for Reasonable Accommodation Form, if necessary.
