Unlawful Detainer

Unlawful Detainers are the process one goes through in order to evict someone. People are often surprised to find that whether or not there is a rental agreement, if you have allowed a person to live on your property, you will have to follow the Unlawful Detainer Process to get them out. If you are the TENANT and you have been given Unlawful Detainer forms, you need to file an answer to get your chance to say something in court. If you do not file an answer, the landlord can get a default judgment against you, and have you locked out without a court date.
